How do we store your data?

  • Kidney Care Bermuda securely stores your data at 63 Victoria Street, Hamilton HM 12, Bermuda where our building is monitored by an alarm system.

  • All personal data is stored digitally in a HIPA-compliant, password protected database and password protected files.

  • We also manage the access of these files.

  • We retain data for 7 years after a patient has died or left the practice, as required by law.

  • After 7 years, confidential information is deleted from the server.

  • Hard copies of personal information are shredded and disposed of.

What are your data protection rights?

Kidney Care Bermuda would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every patient is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access - you have the right to ask Kidney Care Bermuda for copies of your personal information. This right always applies. We may charge a small fee for this service.

  • The right to rectification - you have the right to ask Kidney Care Bermuda to correct any information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure - you have the right to ask us to erase your personal data, under certain circumstances.

  • The right to restrict processing - you have the right to request that Kidney Care Bermuda restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
